I am not a fan of Spring forward or Fall back for that matter. Losing an hour , gaining one, it’s all the same to me. My kids have these super human internal clocks and wake up the same time no matter what.  Fall of Spring the time change never seems to bother them. They are up a sunny 6am – 6am. Not 6am the new time either. I can’t remember the last time I was like wahoooo I am getting an extra hour of sleep tomorrow…nope not in my house. My lovely munchkins compensate the hour but waking up extra extra early.

Any who that’s my gripe for the day LOL. This morning while injecting my first cup of coffee I spied this “pinteresting” little app on Facebook.

Pinpuff Its basically a popularity test for Pinterest. Its pretty interesting to see how you rate as far as repins and followers.

So how did I stack up?

My overall score:

Perfect! Your Pinfluence Score is 48.23.

They then break it down a bit further for you…

Value of Pins & Referral Traffic

Pin Worth(Ecom) Pin Worth(Gen) Cost per click
$1.03 $0.52 $0.15

Reach Score

You have above average following on Pinterest and can easily be improved further.

Activity Score

Great!! You are very active on Pinterest – perfect choice for Brands on Pinterest.

Virality Score

Virality score is very low. How about trying better Board names or Pin titles?

Hmmm guess I need to work on the board names and I do have this horrible habit of not putting anything in my comment box which does cut down on my pins showing up in searches.

So whats your Pinpuff score?

I really wanted to do something fun this year! Of course Pinterest gave me the idea and then I expanded on it a bit…

each photo will have a mustache or lips attached to them. I did mustaches for boys and lips for girls.

and then their valentines together for teachers and family

I loved how they came out and I can’t wait to post the finished product with the props attached!

I have been wanting to make a new wreath for a while so of course I went to my go to craft site…Pinterest!

I found this cute tut for a burlap wreath

I love it but it was a little too clean for what I was going for. I took my burlap and let it fray to its liking, then wrapped it in folds around my hanger.I put a few dots of hot glue through to make sure it doesn’t slide down the hanger over time.

Then using a simple rolled flower technique I made a few out of the fabric I have been using for Valentines day.

And viola! Done…

I am very happy with how it came out!

I hope you are having a great day before Thanksgiving! We had a great day today!

Today were the Thanksgiving feasts at my kids school. It’s a strange thing – to have your house smell like stuffing at 6am but that’s how my day started! I had a lot of work to do for my sons feast as classroom parent so I was so glad my husband was able to join us today and spend a good portion of the morning hanging with Daisy in her class. I was also really thankful that classrooms weren’t that far from each other with all the tag teaming we did back and forth between the two wings.

I mentioned on my Facebook that I was making pie pops and now i have a photo to share 🙂

Lindsey(my besty) I’m sure will have something to say about me snapping a photo pre-clean up but hey this is real life here – I’m not trying to viral on Pinterest just show off a little project LOL…

These ended up being a huge hit and they are slap your face easy so I was sharing the recipe left and right with the other moms.

-Pre made Pie crusts

-Canned Pie Filling

-Lollipop sticks

-Cookie cutters

Unroll your pie crust, cut with cutter of choice, place lollipop stick in bottom layer, spoon a little filling in, cover with another cut shape, fork edges, bake(according to pie crust directions) DONE LOL!

Can you believe how easy???

The kids loved them – I made two turkeys, one for each class. My kids were bragging about me all day – what mom wouldn’t love that?

Here are my boys, stuffing their faces and being silly.

Daisy was so excited to have Daddy sit with her for the feast and her friends were ooing and ahhing over how tall he is…they even dared him to touch the ceiling – which of course he could and did.  Anything to make kids laugh.

A few last things before I leave you today…Don’t forget about my contest this week. You could win the Add On to my latest kit for free – winner to be announced Friday(Check Mondays post to enter).

My RAKs for yesterday and today – I did two today –

– At the Walmart there was this woman who couldn’t get the carts to come undone – I mean really must they always be stuck together??? so we pulled out kids out of ours, grabbed our stuff and offered up our cart to her instead of walking it to the car.

– At the food Lion tonight(can you tell I have been forgetting some last min things for tomorrow?) the woman behind me who had a neck brace on could not lift her basket onto the belt so i offered to do it for her, loaded her stuff on there and offered to carry her groceries to her car 🙂 She was so appreciative and I got a huge smile out of her.  Made my day!

Well have a great day and a fabulous Thanksgiving!

A few weeks ago while on Pinterest(don’t some of the best stories start that way?) I came across this womans blog who did something truly inspirational on her birthday!

You can read all about her here. She took her birthday to do 38 random acts of kindness for others.

I have been dreading my big 30 all year-long. An end of an era time thing, it’s almost a bit frightening to me. The thought of checking a new age range box, silly as it sounds, makes me sad.

A few weeks ago I noticed a very small but still there wrinkle under my eye. I texted my mom frantically, I couldn’t believe it – already I thought? She gave me her usual witty text back and we laughed together about getting older but secretly(well not so much now LOL) I was really sad. My husband seems to be getting better looking as he ages – how unfair is that LOL.

I digress, after reading about Robyn and her selfless birthday I decided I was being silly and down right ridiculous. That I should celebrate life and in a fun way.  So I have been compiling a list – a list of random acts of kindness to commit. Now I am pretty busy so to try to do them all in one day will be too difficult for me – towing my 3 kids all over town at their age is a kind of circus act. I am going to start exactly a month before my birthday committing one random act of kindness a day.

I hope you join me on November 18th and every day for the next 30 days after that.

I would love to hear any suggestions of random acts – as mine has a lot of baked goods on the list and I would like to switch it up a bit LOL.

It’s Halloween time in the ModernJune house and that mean costumes! Every year we go through the same thing…the kids change their minds on what they want to be about 100 times before we finally pick something at the store last min. I end up spending way too much on a costume no one is really happy with. This year I set out to change that. I wanted to make the Halloween costumes myself this year.  I am pleased to say that I actually accomplished this! The kids love their costumes and we are pretty happy with them too.

I decided to go with something that would be wearable long after Halloween and warm for the weather. Solution: Hoodie costumes. I saw these on Martha last year and loved them but I just didn’t have the guts to try them. – YET

So first up…

Little Red Riding Hood – Total Cost 26 bucks

I got the hoodie from Target and the lace frill from the Walmart and the basket from Michaels. She already had the shorts and I got the shirt off clearance and made the skirt from a 4th of July dress off the clearance rack too. A few quick stitches and it was done. Now as I said I followed the Martha Stewart tutorial but I altered it to be more versatile.

Next up…The Big Bad Wolf – Total Cost 9.88

This one was really fun and super easy. I got the hoodie from Target and the felt from the Walmart. I followed the Martha Stewart Tutorial again changing a few things to get the look I wanted. I added fluff inside the ears and sewed everything on instead of fabric glue.

Last but not least my little Dinosaur…I am calling him a cutie-a-saur…Total Cost 10.32

Hoodie from Target, felt from Walmart. This one was the most time-consuming but I love it so much I might make another for David. I found a tutorial on Pinterest and loosely followed it. I changed the shape of the spikes and added eyes claws and teeth.

That’s it! Now my kiddos will be super cute and super cozy trick or treating! I had a lot of fun with these I hoped you enjoyed them too!
